Thomas Welbourn (bapt 22 Feb 1665 Barrowby, Lincs) married Anne ... surname unknown. The couple lived in Chequers Farm in Woolsthorpe from the late 1600's. Thomas changed the farm into an Inn and was the first licence holder of the Chequers Inn. Thomas and Anne had the following children
Francis (b. 1694) (m) Elizabeth Huckerby.
Ann (b. 1696)
Thomas (b. 1697) (m) Frances Sansome.
William (b. 1700)
Edward (b. 1702)
William (b. 1705)
Garvice (b. 1707)
Of the children listed above Francis Welbourn and Elizabeth Huckerby are my 7th great grandparents, I would love to hear from any descendant. I have a lot of information to swap with them. My family trees can be viewed at http://www.sylviaedwards.co.uk

I'm just starting out on this so don't have much info at the moment. My grandfather, Percy Edwards, was married to Ellen (Helen?) Huckerby (around 1910) and I think she was from Newark area but moved to Nottingham on marriage. Any connection?

Hi Sylvia,
I am a descendant of this line though Thomas and Frances Sansome Beeson. Their ggranddaughter Ann left Woolsthorpe (or possibly Grantham) with her husband John Beeson in 1830 and came to the U.S. They first settled in New York, then migrated to Illinois, and finally came across the Oregon Trail in 1853 and settled in southern Oregon.

I am researching Ann, but haven't found much at all about her. I'm particularly interested in her early years in Woolsthorpe. I couldn't get into your family tree link, but would love to see it!

Thanks-
