Surnames: Carroll Carrel Fimple Hart Thompson
Dianna,
My ancestor Catherine (Carroll) Hart (b.1807 Cumberland, PA, d. 1884 IL) named her fifth child Elizabeth FIMPLE Hart. Catherine (Carroll) Hart claimed both her parents, Philip Carrel and Mary (maiden name unknown), were born in Germany, on three separate U.S. Census. The name FIMPLE is a mystery to me, as the name was never used again in that family and its descendants. Possibly this was Catherine’s mother’s maiden name – Mary FIMPLE, from Germany to PA, b. about 1775, and married Philip Carrel/Carroll about 1798. Any wisdom appreciated.

I am sorry to say I can not answer your question. I have not done a lot of work on the Pennsylvania FIMPLES yet. I know the first FIMPEL to come to the US came in 1752 and landed in Philadelphia. I have nnot found another FIMPLE/FIMPEL coming to the US until the 1800's but I have not completely researched this yet.
Good luck,
