Surnames: PETTET, SULLIVAN, HARRIMAN
I was told a story years ago about a little girl who
was ‘stolen’ by the Indians. The family name is
HARRIMAN and it happened in 1797, Lake Ontario, Canada.
Does anyone have more details of this event.
Thanks.

She was the daughter of Nathanial and Bethania (Snow) Harriman see what I found on the internet:

I am a decendent of Nathanial and Behtania's daughter Bethania (Harriman) Pettet.

Thank you for responding. I am descended from Nathanial and Bethania's daughter, Elizabeth, who married William Isaac Pettet. Do you know how Joseph and William Isaac were related?

I am guessing they were brothers, the names of their children show similarities. Joseph died in Jefferson County New York and sometime later Bethania and a few of her sons moved to land near Glenbulah, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. Last summer I found Bethania Pettet's grave and the grave of her son my GGGgrandfather Ozias Pettet.
I have stopped at Joseph Pettet since I am unable to locate any further information on him. I think he may be the son of Timothy Pettet of New York.
In regards to the lost story It was interesting when I started searching the family tree and I was told we were decended from Native Americans (which I haven't found anything), to see how a story chages over time is amazing.
Have you gone further back with your side? I would be happy to add any of your information to my ancestry program, and would also share anything that would benefit you.
My email is ec5848@netscape.net Thanks.
