I've searched for Zlatary as well. After WWII it was distroyed. My grandmother told me the closest you will find is a place called Khust, Ukraine. Zlatary is now a Russian nuclear plant.
My grandfather was from Zlatary. He, and his family, were in the holocaust. Is your family from there?

The town of Khust, Ukraine was in old Maramaros megye, Hungary as Huszt.

http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910/maramar.jpg The villages on the map are in Hungarian and we need to find it with its "Czechoslovak" name Zlatary.

Thank you so much both of you. I was able to follow both maps to find Zolotar'ovo or Zlatary on googlemaps: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&client=firefox-a&h...
I wish there was a way to find out where someone may have lived (ie: address, street etc) before WWII. Any ideas?
