To James Smith (Deb): Noble is my husbands grandfather. I know only his name, where he is from (Indiana)and his 3 wives and children. I think he had a brother and I think he has a son named Robert. So possibly their is a connection.

Surnames: Kellams, Kellems, Kallams, Callams, Kellam, Kellum, etc.
Hello,
I am curious about your Kellams. I am descended from Valeria Kellams of Hancock County, KY who married Irish immigrant James Gaynor.
This family spelled their names an incredible variety of ways and seems to be centered along the Indiana/Kentucky border.
Valeria was the daughter of James M. and Elizabeth (Husk) Kallams.
James M. Kallams was the son of George and Jane "Jensey" (Johnson) Kellams.
It has been assumed that George was the son of a man named Gilbert Callams.
Do think there could be a connection?

Hi, It seems there are quite a few Kellams in that area. Noble had at least one brother. I don't know his name or his parents name. I read that Kellams is a names from Wales and it means "waiter". Noble had three wives that we know of and the first two had no contact with him. His third wife didn't know of the first two wives and doesn't want to talk about the family so I have little to go on.

HI again Sherri got your message,I have info way back on my line that shows, that says the name Kellams is one of the most ancient in Great Britain. It say's that in the year of 1143 this family ws seated at Kelham Manor on the river Trent, 2 miles from Newark in the county of Nottingham. The Fessway, the great Roman road from Exeter in the wes Englan to the city of Lincoln, crossses the Trent immmediately in front of Kelham Hall. This is how this book starts out which was written by Dr.Jesse R Kellems, So there is diffrent spellings, In the second Paragraph it continues to say,
In the his distinguished history of Nottinghamshire,Dr.Thoroton gives the earliest extand pedigree of the Kellams ( which this is the spelling of my madin name). It continues through seven generations from the reign of Keing Stephen to the ninth year of Edward 1 the year of 1231 My line has a Coat of Arms which this I have a picture of.It gives names of of kellams that served under the kings as Knights. It also talkes about Sir William Kellham who served under Edward 1 as a knight. Goes on and on. The name of this book is Westward The pioneers which it came with documentation from some of my blood line. The had sent for from the Old Church in England that the Kellams attend.I have so much info now,Somewhere done the line bet you ,your Kellams Is related.Exspecially with the same spelling Kellams. As I go further into this,And I find anything with the name Noble,I will get intouch with you. Good Luck
Deb
