My maternal grandmother was Lena Wohlhuter. She has a brother William still living in Florida. I spoke to him recently and he told me he also had two cousins Willis and Carl. I haven't done much with side of the family but a distant cousin has whom I could contact if you feel there is a connection.

I am researching this direct line of Wohlhuter's on behalf of the Oregon Wohlhuter family. My very good friend Willis Wohlhuter is a namesake for his grandfather.

Can you help fill-in the blanks beyond William Wohlhuter and Magdalena Hildebrand? Do you know the origin of the name Wohlhuter and it's meaning? Is their a Germanic Wappen or family crest?

Kind regards,

Michael R. Boyce
Medford, OR

I don't recognize the name Hildebrand. My grandm'ther's maiden name was Magdalena Wohlhuter. I, too, would like to get a line on where we all fit in. I had not heard of an Oregon line of Wohlhuters. We have two spellings of the name but same line here--Wohlhuter and Wohlhueter. Do you have any information linking you to the Minnesota family?

Re: Willis Wohlhuter.
There may be a connection since my grandmother came from Alsace-Lorraine. I have not heard of yourl line but let's pursue it. Thanks.
