Dorothy,
You didn't post your e-mail addie.
I know my husband side came from England, where exactly I don't know. His Grandfather came to the US his name - Walter Roland Norbury, his son was Walter Otto, and his son, my husband is Walter Robert. I am doing family research, but have not had time to dig into this surname yet.

My grandfather Albert Norbury moved to Canada with
his first wife Martha at the turn of the century.

He had brothers in the U.K. but I am unsure of
his history. He later married Daisy Webb and had
six children.

If you can make a connection let me know.

Michael

I now have information that I didn't have when I did my first Norbury posting. Philip
Norbury came here in 1837 with his wife Elizabeth Kelsall. They settled in Naperville
Illinois, where most of the family stayed. One son went to Kansas, his name was William
Kellum Norbury. Our line is his brother John
Norbury and our "Emma" was his daughter. I have information Philips brother's, sister and father. Need more info? email me at:

Good Luck!

Dorothy,
hello - nice to hear of someone with a familiar name - I married a young lady a few years back with the surname of Norbury - first name Sarah. She orginated from Cheshire as well - possibly a relative??? She claims not to know you! I hope that this may be of some help to you. I will keep an eye out to see if there is any further information I can give to you in the future.

I post because my grandfather's name was Walter Rodney Norbury....at least we have a Walter/Norbury connection. His family is from the Philadelphia, PA (Roxborough/Manayunk) area. His father was Benjamin Franklin Norbury (1875-1919)(married to Sarah Amelia Jenkins), and Benjamin Franklin's father was Charles H. Norbury (1846-1925). Perhaps some connection.....?

Hello Dorothy

My Norbury ancestors were also from Cheshire. They originated from Blackden and then moved to Stockport. I am lucky enough to still be living in Cheshire. If you would like to correspond with me maybe we can exchange information?

Classification: Query
Apparently we are from the same line. My great great grandmother was Phebe Norbury (father & mother Philip Norbury and Elizabeth Kelsall. I would greatly appreciate any more information since I am just starting to find out about my family.
