Hi,

Yes, I believe I have your group in my records. I have Jacob Elliott b. ca 1815 and his wife Catherine E. (I guess for Elizabeth) Irion. They lived in Gallia County, Ohio. How may I help you.

I am interested in almost any information on Jacob Elliott or C.E. Irion. My g. grandfather is their son Warren. I am esp. interested in knowing any of their ancestors or history. I have a list of 11 of their children, but have no dates or info. other than names.
Not sure how best to share data; I have software and can accept a gedcom file. My email address is "roesler2@juno.com" if you prefer to reply directly. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'd venture to say that Elizabeth is probably linked to a branch of my family. Anne Hennis Trotter Bailey had a son William (trotter) who had children who married Irion's. She is probably decended from one of them. The time frame from the info I have sounds about right for that. Plus I think I remember finding some info on a Elizabeth. I wish I could help out more. If you could give me any more info I may be of more help.

My grandmother was Elisabeth (maiden unknown)Irion married to Samuel Irion both of Germany. If it helps, my father, still living, is her son Siegfried Irion of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.

No, I don't think you're looking at the same people. Elisabeth (note the spelling) and Samuel Irion with son, Siegfried-now in Ontario, were from Bessarabia, a German province now part of Rumania. They resided in Lunga, Bessarabia before fleeing in WW2. Family lore is that the Irions were originally from the Alsace-Lorraine region of France.

Yup. That's my father, Oma and Opa.

My father left after the war, my grandparents stayed. My father married my mother here in Ontario, but she is also from the area.
Leonida Helene Kautz, eldest daughter of Reinhold Kautz and Martha Janke. Her only surviving brother continues to live in Germany, Frederich Adolf Kautz.
Mom passed away in 2005, my father will celebrate his 80th birthday on June 11.

We are in agreement regarding family lore.

Kindest Regards,

Catharine Magdalene Irion Martin.

Mothers maiden name was Aipperspach first name Elisabeth, no middle name that we know of.
This information was provided by my father Seigfried ( Ziggy) this morning.
Cheers,

If she can tell you a birth place that may tell you if its the same person. Elisabeth was born in Hoffnungstal. Spelling may not be 100%
Don't know if any of this helps your search. Good luck.
Catharine
