Thank-you, but i have this info. In the 1880 census, Susan and James are living in St.Andrews,Charleston, with her brother Hugo.
I am really interested in James Sanders,as he is my great grandfather on my mother's side. Trying to trace the Sanders side back to England. I have a copy of Darby's death certificate, that is how i found out his father's name. I was always told that the family came from England to Charleston on one of the early ships. But is can't seem to connect the pieces.I live out of state, which makes things even harder.I have my grandmother's family, the Kizer's back to Switzerland.Thank-you again for your help.

this is a james h. sanders who died in 1897 in charleston and had lived there 55 years and was married and born about 1842 in south carolina and his occupation was carpenter,i noticed darby sanders occupation was painter,so they're may be a connection.
