Seeking information on Luke Ward b.abt 1730 m. Bridgett Drauhon. Their children: Letitia, Mary, John, Penelope, Luke, Elizabeth. Luke Sr. is found in Bertie Co. about 1750, but where did he originate?

I have a Luke Ward in my family, he was the father of Jim B Ward, Jim was born in Tenn 1838 and died 1919. Jim B Ward is buried in Oklahoma. Luke's father was Matthew Ward, he married Esther (unknown). I have only found this family in Tenn and where they lived prior to Tenn is unknown. Since a lot of records were destroyed during the Civil War this family has been diffcult to research.

I have also traced my ancestry to Luke Thomas Ward in Duplin,NC 1730-1796. According our tree his father was Matthew Ward who was born in Bertie,NC. That is as far back in time as we have been able to go back.

Does anyone know how a UNK Ward of TN b. abt 1798 with a son named Tom who married a Priscilla/Pernella NC is related to this line? They married either in NC or SC Prob.

MY NOTES BELOW ON THIS FAMILY. FAMILY RUMOR HE IS RELATED TO THE COL. WILLIAM WARD OF GOLIAD WHOSE FATHER WAS A LEONARD FROM GEORGIA. THIS LINE MATCHES THE DNA OF THOMAS WARD OF BERTIE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA.

Tom (unknown really) Ward b. abt 1798 married Pernella......could be Priscilla
Census says Tom Ward was from SC......although it could be NC and a census taker's mistake. I don't know which Thomas/Tom Ward he is related to in TN that goes back to NC..........Too many Thomas/Tom Wards in the NC area.

I have born in South Carolina, but could be North Carolina or Missouri. Census reports have conflicting information in his son's census reports of his father's birth state. Priscilla/Pernella listed in his son Thomas' census could be unknown Ward's wife.

Possible Brother to William Ward of Goliad according to this Ward family - BUT NOT LIKELY, THAT WM WARD WAS FROM GEORGIA, NOT NORTH CAROLINA. I find no link so far.

1870 Census gives his mother's or sister's name as Priscilla, conflicting info on census...one says she was born in Tennessee, another says she was born in North Carolina.

Looking every where for Luke Ward b around 1730.NC. Died in 1796, Bertie co Nc So did three other Thomas Wards. It is either Luke Thomas Ward or Thomas Luke Ward mr to Bridgett Draughon. Have found land deeds with other Wards and with Walter Draughon, Bridgett Father. but cannot find who Luke Father was or mother or any of his brother or sisters. Nothing. Some have claim his father was Mathew or John, Do not how they can say that when you can not find anything on them having a son name Thomas LUke Ward or LUke Ward married to Bridgett Draughon .Others of this line are also hunting with no results.Thanks for reading this Elizabeth
