Dear bob,
I've been searching the baxter genealogy for 17 years. My great-great grandfather william baxter was all over the place. Scotland, England, France, U.S.A etc.. Unfortunately, he bounced all over the place creating large families everywhere he went. I believe he was responsible for 32 children. If you are interested, please e-mail me at jrbaxter@deseretonline.com Good luck in your research.

No. I don't have any leads on BAXTERs in DG. I have been hoping to find some connection to my Agnes, Wigtown circa 1750. I would be interested in anything you find in your search and will keep you in my file and will contact you if I find anything.

indirect connection - George Joseph Baxter native of Dumfries born ca.1840, mariner. He sailed to Saint John, N.B., married and settled there 1860. I have not been able to trace the Dumfries roots yet.
