I am looking for Mattias ancestors. Matthias Jerion/Jurion/Jeryon, born 18 Mar 1703 in Talheim, Tuttlingen, Germany. His father was Heinrich Irion born Abt. 1680. Heinrich Irion, married Magdalena Conradi, born Abt 1680. Matthias, married Maria Magdalena Pfister, born 25 May 1703, Graben, Karlsruhe/Baden, Germany. Christening: 25 May 1703, Herbolzheim, Mosbach, Baden, Germany. They were married: 29 Jan 1731, in Graben, Karlsruhe/Baden, Germany. I don't have information where Heinrich Irion or his wife Magdalena Coradi, were born or when and where they were married. Nor do I know if they had any other children. The name has changed several time in the USA. Some other spellings were: Jurian-Jerian-Jurion-Yerian-Yerion-Yaryan-Yearien-Yearian. We are trying to find the orginial spelling. It was said It orginated in Armenia but the records would only go back as far as Germany. Does anyone see a connection here?

Hi Shari,

Yes I have this family in my data base. Mattheus and his wife had 5 children. Which one are you descended from? According to my records, this family was known as Yarion in Pennsylvania. Mattheus came to this country in 1732.

I have his ancestry back to the middle 1500's. How may I help you?

The name Irion originated in the area of Talheim, Germany. From 1550, the time of the earliest churchbooks, the name had a number of spellings and changed each time the priest of the parish changed (the only literate one around). After the Thirty Years war, about 1660, the parish priest spelled the name Irion and it stuck. Every branch of the family traceable returns to this origin. What the original spelling might have been is unknown. While I have speculated on a number of origins, there is absolutely no proof of any of them. A German book of lexicography will tell you that the name came from Saint Gerion, but the local people say that this saint was not known in the area of Southern Germany. You will not find an origin outside of Germany. If you do, please let me know. I have been working on the family for over thirty years.

Gerald

Dear Gerald. For some reason, I could not access this site from my computer. I don't understand why I am having trouble. I am writing from a friends web tv. Please write me at my email address: shari8844@earthlink.net. I want to talk further with you about this family line. I am decendant from Matthias' son, George Yerian/Yearien. Do you have documents on Matthias and his Ancestors, back to the 1500's? This is really great news. Do you also have records on Maria's family too? I anxiously wait for your reply. Anyone else with information or questions please email me. I don't know how long this problem will last.

Hi Gerald,
I had trouble getting back to you last night but it looks like I can contact you from here again. I am so excited to have found you. I FWD your message to my cousin who FWD it to someone else he knows named Margaret. We are all working on getting information about our ancestors. Carl, asked me to ask you, "How you know that the Mathias born in Talheim in 1702 is the same person that left Durlach for Pennsylvania in 1732?"
I would like to get copies of any documents you have on Mattheus and his wife, Maria's parent's and any other information you have on the family as far back as possible. Have you seen what Mirko Irion had written about the name changes? You can see what he has at: http://www.irions.net/stammb/web/stammb/index.htm.
I eargerly await your reply.

Hi,

Would you be willing to share Matthias' ancestry with me? I'm descended from Matthias through John (Johan) George Yearien. Eventually it becomes "Yerian" in my family.

I'd be happy to share what I have.

Thanks,

Shelley Livaudais

Hi, Shelley, I see Gerald has replied to your message as well. He has allot more information on the ancestors from Germany than I do. What I have I got from him and other cousins who pretty much got their information from him also. So he would be your main connection for information. I have Matthias Irion/Jurion on down. My line was from; Matthias Irion/Jurion, John George Yerian, John Frederick Yerian, Adam Yerian, Marion Yearion/Yearian, George Frederick Yearian, Fayette Lee Yearian, and Stella Mae Yearian. My birth name was Ester Lee Yearian. (born out of wedlock and adopted by an aunt). You may already know that the spelling of the name has been changed many times even within families. If there is something I can help you with please write right away at: shari8844@earthlink.net as sometime in the near future I will be wiping everything from my PC and won't be able to forward you any information. Sharon

Hi, I'm looking for more information on the Yerian family. I am a descendant of George Yerian, son of Matthias Yerian. I believe your information may match up with mine. Any information you can give me on Matthias' ancestors will be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
I hope you all don't mind me jumping in here, but this is information that I'm very interested in as well.

My maiden name is Yearian, and Matthias Jerion was my 7th great grandfather. My branch of the Irion/Jerion/Yerian/Yearian family is descended from Matthias' son George Erwin Yerian as well. All I've found out about Matthias' ancestors is that his father was Heinrich Irion and his mother was Magdalena Conradi. Heinrich Irion's parents were Matthias Irion and Anna Bollin, and it goes back a few more generations in Germany (this is on my family tree).

I sure would like to know more about the Irions before 1530, and I'm also curious about Magdalena Conradi's family, if anyone has any more information about her.

Thanks!
Marian Bumala nee Yearian
