My great grandmother was Mary (Duffy) Reed. She married Isaac Reed and resided in Blackhawk County. While I do not have a lot of information, I do know that her father was a judge. There was a large family of Duffys in Fairbank Iowa, which is where she was raised. This may be a good place to look. Good luck.

Your ancestor James was the son of Bridget and Thomas Duffy. I have lots of information from another descendent of Bridget and Thomas, a granddaughter of Bridget's daughter Mary who married Nels Olson.

She has researched Bridget and Thomas' descendents as well as all of Bridget's brothers' descendents. She made contact with my family a few years ago.

It is so nice to finally run into a duffy decendent of mine after doing
three to four years of searching for information on my Great Great
Grandparents Thomas Duffy and Bridget Duffy. My name is Gwen Butrum (maiden
name CHALLY). My mom's mom Alice was a DUFFY daughter of William DUFFY and
Mary DEFKE of Williams, Iowa. William DUFFY was son of Thomas and Bridget
DUFFY of Williaams, Iowa.

I started this family line because my mom was really partial to her
grandfather William DUFFY. She spent most of her childhood years when not
at home with her parents and sibblings. I decided a few years to tackle
tracking down the family line. I have quite a bit of information on the
DUFFY line but would be nice to compare notes with someone of the same
interest in mind.

My mom was also partial to the brothers of William DUFFY and I know so
little about my great grandfather and his family for I was just a baby
shortly before he passed on.

Her grandmother was Bridget's daughter. Gladys does not have a computer, but she has been researching this family for many years. She found my family when she researched all of Bridget's brothers.
