I am helping my husband, John Paul Miller search for his birth family: mother, father, siblings etc. He was born July 31 1964 in Rapid City @ St John's McNamara Hospital. His adoptive parents are now both deceased. We have no information on his birth parents.

We don't have much to go on, I will give what I can. My husband, John Paul Miller, was told different stories by both his adoptive father & grandfather - see below. *All of John Paul's immediate family is now deceased, only his cousin (his adoptive father's nephew) remains.

John Paul was born July 31, 1964, St John's McNamara Hospital Rapid City SD - according to the only birth certificate he has. His adoptive parents were first cousins, they never adopted again or had children of their own.

He was told by his adoptive grandfather Felix Joseph Ferrero, that he knew John Paul's biological paternal grandfather - no name was ever given. Paul Anthony Miller - his adoptive father told John Paul that his parents were college students. Then Paul told John Paul at another time that his father had a drinking problem.

Both Felix & Paul said the adoption was handled through the Catholic Diocese. John Paul was never told names, ages or where his parents were form.

All we can assume was that they, his parents, were from this geographic area; perhaps one of the Dakota's, or Nebraska, or Wyoming, or Iowa? We currently live in the Northern Black Hills of South Dakota. John Paul has lived up here all of his life.

One last tidbit, John Paul, we believe, was never meant to know he was adopted - he came by this knowledge through a friend who let is slip out.

Can you not go through the cathjolic diocese to ask if John Paul can see his documents? can you go back to John Pauls friend to ask again?

His friends have no known details on his biological parents. He has already approached the Diocese and they swore up/down and sideways that they have no known record.

On his birth certificate: his date of birth, the hospital, single birth and his adoptive parents: Paul Anthony Miller & Doreen Theresa Ferrero - Miller.

I discovered 3 months ago that they announced his adoption in our local paper on August 14, 1964; stating that they choose 10 day old John Paul as their adopted son.

August 14, 1964 fell on a Friday - so depending upon what day they called in the information, he was probably born on July 31, 1964. We have no way to prove otherwise at this time.

And one last tidbit, I found this at the local library - I searched ahead and backwards and I found no announced births of baby boys, named or otherwise listed - so perhaps this was a private adoption. I wish we had more information to share.
