G'day Debbie,

Very kind of you to offer this service!

I am looking for the death certificate of WILLIAM M MILLER (born 1906), married EDNA C WARDROPE. My grandmother told me (he was her father) that he just left one day and never came back. Another lady very kindly found out for me that he enterted the army:

Service Number NX110471 (N54275, N90076)
Date of Birth 10 Oct 1906
Place of Birth NEWCASTLE, NSW
Date of Enlistment 21 Aug 1942
Locality on Enlistment CROYDON PARK, NSW
Place of Enlistment RICHMOND, NSW
Next of Kin MILLER, EDNA
Date of Discharge 20 Dec 1944
Rank Staff Sergeant
Posting at Discharge HQ 12 AUST FD BAKING COY (AIF)

So now i am just trying to figure out what happened to him and where / when he died.

Thanks so much,
Skye Kory

Hi Skye

The only William M Miller born in 1906 in NSW was 30896/1906 son of Joseph J and Sylvia (registered Sydney). If that is him, he died in 1965. Reg. no: 1965/36880 but registered as William Malcolm Miller, son of Joseph J and Sylvia, registered in Burwood.

His marriage certificate: 14114/1923 to Edna C Wardrope. If he was born in 1906 he was only 17 at his marriage!

It appears if he gave his NOK as Edna when he enlisted they were still together then. When did he go missing?

By the way I'm not Debbie, just someone who likes to help if I can. I'm sure Debbie will get a better result for you!

Good luck

Angela

Hey Angela,

Thanks so much... Yes, i'm very confused about all this. Apparently he just went to work one morning and never came back. The army info says he enlisted at Croydon Park, which is where the family was living at the time so thats why i'm inclined to think that he did join the army...

However, Wiliam's grandaughter says she is sure that his parents names weren't Joseph and Sylvia...

I'm trying to solve this mystery as no on in my family ever did. I just can't figure it out!

Skye...

Are you serious? Can I really ask for your help just like that!
Am looking for details of great grandmother who died in Australia whilst visiting her son. Have hardly any info apart from her name , Ellen Bartle, nee Blain, born in Glasgow about 1874. Her son was Andrew Blain Bartle and that is as much as I know! Can not even give you a location so i'm afraid you haven't much to go one!
I you can't help I do understand, but thanks for reading this anyway.
Cheers.

Hi Whoever you are !! you did not leave your name.
The location is in Melbourne Victoria Australia FOR THE MOMENT !

Her son Andrew Blain Bartle was married to Marie Rose Lees. (They married 1929 in Victoria)
In 1960 the death of their daughter Nellie Blain Bartle is recorded. She died aged 26 in 1960 Footscray. Andrew's wife died 4 years later in 1964 aged 63, she was the daughter of James & Lily Lees. Andrew dies in 1976 in Victoria aged 72, he is listed as the son of Joseph Albert Bartle & Ellen Blain.
BUT no death record of mum Ellen at all. Is there more to the story ?? Who were her parents ? it is possible that i can find her under a different spelling or something like that !!
Hope this helped you a little anyway..

Debbie - Melbourne Australia

WHAT A WONDER YOU ARE!
I may be getting more info from a cousin, if I do I will let you know! In the meantime--- I cannot believe how quickly you replied to me.
Ellen Bartle/ Blain was married to Joseph Albert, that much I did know. Cheers for now.

Hi Hazel,
More info would be great, I cannot even find her entering the country. Did her husband come with her ?
she only seemed to have the one child here in Victoria.
If you do receive further information please let me know and I will have another look for you.
Regards
Debbie.

G'day Debbie,

Would love some help if you have time! Am looking for the death certificate of ERIC MILLER. Parents were William and Edna C MILLER. We think it was a cover up suicide by shotgun and would have happened around the 1940's...

Thanks so much,
Skye
