I believe I am the grandson of William Lovejoy Moore. I understand that he was born in Ireland and lived at various times in Kentucky, Ohio, and Washington, DC. I was not aware that he ever lived in Florida, but it is possible. Please contact if you have or want more information.

I was looking for any living relatives of Ann Hardgrove Moore, a terminally ill veteran. She was the daughter of William Lovejoy Moore. She was born in Middlesboro, KY in 1935, and her father was a photographer, who apparently lived in various areas, including Louisville, Ky. Her Mother, Esther Hardgrove Moore was originally from Knox County, OH. I have a large file of genealogy on the family, but was unable to locate family for Ann before she died. If you are family and are interested, you are welcome to what research I have. Ann was given a Veteran's funeral with full military honors, and is buried in the Marion Veterans Cemetery, Marion, IN. Ann had several brothers who were quite prominent, but it seems every one I tried to contact was already deceased. How are you related?

I am the son of John Thomas Moore, a Navy man. The only prominant brother of his I ever heard of was a paleontologist employed by the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. I seem to recall his name was William, but I am unsure. "Constance Patrice" rang a bell, since my father had a sister who was called Connie. He had a second sister whose name is unknown to me (i.e., it could be Ann for all I know). He also had a brother, William Jr., who was a very unprominent fireman in Bowie, Maryland.

Correction: Joseph was the brother that worked at the Fields Museum. I am told that my father John did have a sister named Ann, who lived with her mother in Florida in around the 1960s.

I am going to have to find the folder I have to be sure of my facts, but I do remember that I was looking for a sister, Constance Patrice in Ohio. Also, there was a brother that was a wildlife expert in Florida, who had written extensively. There was also a brother in Texas.

The Moore siblings were: Joseph, William, John, Richard, James, Virginia, Connie, Ann (the youngest) and another brother who is said to have risen rather high in the Air Force. My mother cannot remember his name.
Ann was an airline stewardess at one time.
The wildlife expert could very well be Joseph who ended up at the Fields; he was the eldest brother.

Now I really need to find that folder! Both I and the Social Worker had given up on finding Ann's family. I am so glad you made contact! Where are you located?

Maryland.
My father left home quite young to join the navy, and Ann was his youngest sister, so they cannot have been very close. However, we do possess one foto of her mother and one of her father. I would be very interested in any information you have about any of the siblings as well as the parents.
Perhaps next time you could write directly to my email address (?)
