Looking for Gulf War friends transported to War from Bremerton, Naval Hospital

Hello. Looking for friends stationed at Bremerton Naval Hospital, Bremerton, WA before, during, and after the Gulf War. Some friends I worked with at the Naval Hospital and got deported to the Gulf area the summer of 1990. Some I never saw again, some came back and I got to
talk to, some went on to their next duty station. If I know where they lived previously, (the exact barracks) is there any chances of finding them again? Some I only have first names for, I remember few first and last names.

Appreciate any help,
Rhonda,former HNHanks

702nd Transportation Bn. (Prov)

*This is posted for archival purposes*

The 702nd Transportation Battalion (Provisional) was created in Theatre originally as a Heavy Equipment Transport Battalion. The number was derived from the 7th Transportation Group (parent) with the “02” representing the second provisional battalion formed.

Headquarters was at King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam Saudi Arabia with elements of the battalion at Jubayl Port and King Khalid Military City (KKMC).

The largest percentage of personnel were drawn from the reserve components with a large segment of those activated from the USAR Control Group Reinforced – Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) or the “inactive reserve”. This gave the battalion an incredibly diverse group of personnel military occupational specialties.

The battalion was also host to a large number of “host nation” truck drivers and very many model 1924 (not the year made) Mercedes Benz tractor-trailer trucks; sometimes called “circus trucks” because of their bright paint scheme. Though most of the reservists assigned to the 702nd had been trained in the operation of the HEMTT (Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck) at Fort Jackson SC before deployment, this equipment was not available to them in theatre – they “drove a Mercedes during the war”. Many drove a tractor-trailer rig for the first time during the war.

Routine drives included MSR Dodge, MSR Audi, and, following the Liberation of Kuwait, trips into Kuwait City. Typical cargo was ammunition and “organizational equipment” and three-four day round trips were common.

The 702nd Transportation Battalion was an element of the 7th Transportation Group, 22nd Support Command.
