Hello Paisanos:

My mother, the late Romana Ruffina Fierro Glotzer, Lic., was born in Terlingua Texas in 1918. My abuela was Manuela Lozano Fierro. My grandfather took off to fight in the Mexican revolutionary conflicts around 1920, and was never heard from again. My mom and my tias were little kids when this happened. My oldest surviving tia does not remember his name, but she remembers that our family was originally from Delicias, Chihuahua.

When I saw the picture of Gral Fierro on the Winkepedia site, I was startled at the family resemblence! Does anybody out there know anything about the Fierros in northern Mexico and south Texas? (Even in Spain, there are only 2300 people with the suname of Fierro.)

With thanks,

Robert H. Glotzer (y Fierro)
I have a picture of President don Venustiano Carranza's primary cabinet taken in 1913. My grandfather and two greatgreat uncles were members of this cabinet. Please post your replies on this website so we can keep everyone else in the loop!
can somebody translate this to spanish for me?

Ingredients:

1.	2 cups water
2.	1 cup white rice
3.	3 tablespoons olive oil
4.	1 small onion, chopped
5.	5 green onions, chopped
6.	2 cloves garlic, minced
7.	2 habanero chile peppers, minced
8.	1 red bell pepper, chopped
9.	1 (12 ounce) package seitan, chopped
10.	1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
11.	1 (16 ounce) can diced tomatoes
12.	3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
13.	1 (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce
14.	10 (10 inch) flour tortillas
15.	1 1/2 cups white rice
Directions:
1)	In a medium saucepan bring 2 cups lightly salted water to a boil. Add the white rice. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
2)	In a large saucepan (wok pans also work well) heat oil over medium-high and saute yellow onion, green onions, garlic, habeneros, and bell pepper until onions become translucent. Add seitan and saute another 5 minutes. Add black beans and tomatoes. Heat through.
3)	In a medium size-mixing bowl combine heated mixture with cooked rice, cilantro, and 1 cup barbecue sauce.
4)	Lay tortillas on flat surface. Spoon about 3/4 cup of filling onto each tortilla's center. Wrap tortilla so that mixture is captured on the inside.
5)	In a casserole dish pour barbecue sauce to coat the dish's bottom. Place burritos in dish and pour more barbecue sauce on top of them. Bake in a preheated 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven for 35 minutes.
Roberto was a pilot and Rodolfo was the one in the Mexican Revolution. All of them died before I was born, so I know very little of them.
Luis

I have been told that I am related somewhere down the line from a general that rode with Pancho Villa. This was told to me by my great grandmother who moved to Deadwood, SD when she was 13-14 and newly married.

If you know anything about something like this please contact me!

Alatorre search - Gendarmeria Montada de Chihuahua 1/10/1914

Like my cousin who previously posted, I too am looking for information on my great grandfather, Rosendo Alatorre. As he never spoke of his Mexican Revolution days, my family is doing its best to piece things together. As near as we can determine, he arrived in the US on Jan. 10, 1914 and was interned at Ft. Wingate. He was part of a small 'Gendarmeria Montada de Chihuahua' company of ex-patriats that included Teniente Emiliano Ordones (age 35), 1st Sgt. Jose Maria Mares (21), Francisco Ramirez (30), Dionicio Torres (31) and Jose R. Gutierrez (20). This group of people, along with others, apparently came across the boarder after the battle of Parral. If anyone can give me some information, or has family that may have served with him, or merely came across at that time, I would appreciate whatever tidbits so I can build some kind of picture to his past.

Thanks.

New Email address? Notify Ancestry for an automatic update on all boards

Have you ever searched by keyword through old posts on a message board and happily struck gold by finding names or dates related to your ancestors? You quickly send an email to that poster's listed address only to discover their "addy" has long changed. You then return to the message board and post a response, hoping that person will soon read the board. You wait.

And wait.

Perhaps your reply goes unnoticed. Someone else might know the person and alert them to your post. You may or may not ever connect.

When and if you change your email address, please let Rootsweb/Ancestry know so that they can update any message board posts you've made over the years. See the topic: MESSAGE BOARD POSTINGS at this link

http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/addresses/

An excerpt from that page:

"Changing your e-mail address is accomplished in one easy step for registered users. Click on the "'My Profile" link, which is accessible after logging in. Complete any changes in the "Change Profile" or "Change Password" boxes and click on "Submit." Your account information is changed universally on every post associated with this account/e-mail address. I can't find enough information on either fellow. Porfirio was a Mexican Dictator. Francisco was a very popular general in the war (a boulevard, statue and building are named for him in Mexico). One of my ggrandma's was a Diaz, and a gggrandma was a Ramos. I can't find how they connect to these men yet.
