My mother was born Oct. 8, 1958 in Kingsville, TX. She was adopted by Robert and Sina Carter. They named her Sheila Marie Carter. They got her 3 days after her birth and the adoption was final in Sept. 1959. After getting the adoption records opened, they find out her birth last name was Williams. Unfortunately the adoption record did not list her birthparents. The only record of a Williams female born on Oct. 8, 1958 was a Dottie Virginia Williams whose birth certificate was sent to Austin, TX. That has to be her. Anna Morrison gave birth to a son James. He was born May 21, 1925 in St. Catharines, Ontario Canada. Anna moved to the U.S. in 1920. Sometime after that she married Victor Cardamone..The adoptive parents are John and Hazel Lorenze. They lived in Niagara Falls, New York. Anna worked as a nurse in the hospital in St. Catharines and also at Buffalo General in New York. She died Oct. 8, 1967 at Memorial Hospital and was buried Victoria Lawn Cemetary in St. Catharines. My husband James R. Lorenze is the son of her son James. He and his brother Douglas are looking for relatives on that side of the family. My father in law is now deceased. The only information my husband ever heard was that the Lorenze's were friends of Anna's and agreed to adopt James. He did not even know that he was adopted until he went to join the service for WWII. My husband was also told that his father had spent some time in an orphanage and that his biological father was not known. Any information would certainly be appreciated. Thank you .. Carol Lorenze

I am now forty and confirmed that i was adopted by my "father". I have the name of my bio father and also the adoption case number. I am in the process of trying to get the file unsealed in court and while i am waiting i am wondering if anyone knows what is actually in a file. I guess what i want is there any actual info in a file that will help me locate my bio father and/or family or will it just contain a name? My mother denied this when i confronted her at 14 when my sister found 2 different baby books of me. I was young and jumped at her about it and now wish i would of kept it to myself.I only remember the name.

I was born in 1953 and my Mother and Father were both married to other people. They never did marry one another and although I know who each of them are, I can not find a record of my birth under my mothers married name at the time, her maiden name, my adopted fathers name, or my real fathers name.

Looking for birth family of male adoptee thought to be born March 31, 1947 at Lakes Regional Hospital, Laconia, NH. Adopted that fall when the young birth mother realized she was too young to raise him. Private adoption.

Two children are listed as born on that date in the 1947 Laconia annual report - Gregory Ackerman (born to Natalie Ackerman, no father listed) and Clifford Bonner (born to Charles Bonner and Catherine Latz). Not sure if either of these if the appropriate birth record.

Adoptee loved his adoptive parents (now deceased) and has no bad feelings about his adoption - feels birth mom did what she felt was best and hopes he would have had the courage to do the same in a similar situation. However, he would just as soon let the past be the past and has never wanted to find her. I respect this, but I would like a basic medical history on the birth parents if I can find them.

I'm looking for my mother's 3 brothers that was adopted in Harris County, Houston, Texas.In May of 1953 my mother, her 3 brothers and her sister were put in Burnette Bayland, home for depent children. My mother's name is Carolyn, and she did not get adopted. But the rest of the siblings did. Their last name before they had been adopted was Thompson. Their birth parents names: Eula and T.G. Thompson. But one of the children did not have same father as the rest. His name was Delmer Frances Mayfield. They called him "Frankie". It's a possibilty that he was adopted by a Carter family. Frankie was born on Nov. 23, 1950. The others are: Thomas George, born Nov. 16,1942 Billy Jack, born July 11,1944 and Linda Sue, born Mar. 9,1946. Thomas was adopted around the year 1955 by Joseph (I not sure about his 1st name) and Alice Hyde. They lived in West Columbia, Texas. I don't know who adopted Billy. I was born on the 5:th of October 1972 and given away in adoption.
Now I`d like to get in contact with my birth family.

My mothers name is Vera Narishkin, she was on the time of my birth married to John Emslie, a Brittish Civil Servant. So he is named as father on my birth certificat.

I have located, but not yet established contact with my mother, who now lives in Geaneva, Switzerland.
Im very eager to get in contact with any siblings.
I know that I am supose to have at least one older brother.

EVeryone should check their state laws for what kind of information you are entitled to.

For example in alaska adoptees can get their orig birth cert.

In az parents can update medical, and have it put in the child's folder.
Plus their are waivers that can be signed to release information.

In ny there is a reunion registry run by the state. And adoptees can ask for non id.

Many states allow that, if you ask for it.
Many states have reunion registry's. Besides on line.

I was born to Wanda Wilcynski in Detroit MI. She died when I was 6. I was raised by her parents Harry and Eleanor Wilcynski. I have never seen my father, not even a picture. If anything here rings a bell Please reply. Joseph Adamson worked for the Detroit News in 1980 (maybe he still does). He lived behind a Great Scotts off of Warren Ave. He has sons and maybe a daughter. His father has same name, but I am not sure about the middle names. My Grandfather and his twin sister were adopted. I know city and county they were adopted in (which is different from city they lived in). When the adoption agency was contacted, we were told the files from that time span had been destroyed in a fire. Can I contact the county where they were adopted or lived? If so which one would have that info? Would their birth certificate do any good? Please Help!!

I found out about you at our mothers funeral. Seems you were born sometime in the fifties, I am surmising that it was in the latter half. Your fathers name is Jack Lee and your birthmothers name was Shirley Printup. She was a registered nurse and you were born in NY city. My Grandmother was adopted around 1898. When she married in about 1916 or 1917, her new husband, who was a police officer tried to get information about her birth parents to no avail. I can understand that, but since all parties are now deceased, can I find information somehow? My mother ( her daughter) would like to know the story after all of these years as she is now in her 80's!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
