I wanted to updated what information I have found since the last time I posted on here. I found Paul by going to the library in the town where my mom and him worked and looked up some old newspapers from the year before I was born. I knew he was a musician at the time so I figured he'd have some advertisments in the local paper for his shows. The first paper I opened up there it was,Paul Summers...I had been spelling it wrong all along. I was so surreal to actually see his name,to have something to go on. Anyways to make a very long story short I found his brother who put me in contact with him,come to find out he now goes by the name Paul LaRoche and he's part of a Native American band called Brule. So crazy to find him but then to learn that I was half native american was even crazier.

When we talked for the first time he claimed to never have known about me but I later learned that he had heard rumors but never pursured them(my mom never told him because she had found out he was married with children. She ended up moving to a different town after learning she was preggers because she didn't want to deal with custody battles and such.) When we talked for the first time he was very shocked and didn't really know what to say which I completly understood,he said he would call me back after he let it all settle in...I have not heard from him and that was 3 years ago. I ended up finding his website a week later and that's how I've kept up with him the last few years. Turns out he was adopted at birth and he didn't know he was native until he was in his late 30's and he stumbled upon his birth records. His mother had him and gave him up for adoption without her family even knowing,she had 4 children before him so no one even knew he was out there. He ended up reuniting with his birth family and needless to say they were a little shocked to find out about him(kind of like he was with me)but welcomed him with open arms. I am going through almost exactly the same thing he went through but yet he wants nothing to do with me,very hypocritical if you ask me. I am happy with my family and was fully aware that this whole thing might not turn out the way I had planned,I am happy with the information I do have and maybe it's better this way.
