After my mother was divorced in the 50's, she remarried and her new husband adopted me and I got the name of Steusloff. All the names on the papers were changed to reflect the new name. My mother says she does not know or remember what my real father's last name was, especially since it was changed to a simpler 'Jeason' somewhere in his line. It is him that I would like to locate so I can find his real family name. All of this took place at the time in Michigan. If he is still alive, who knows where he is now and my mother can't help (or won't).
