Do you know how old your birth mother was when you were born? Is 10/24/1962 your birth date or the date of your adoption? The way you have your message worded it looks like 10/24/1962 was the date of your adoption. I did find several women named Soderberg who were born in the 1940s but to narrow it down it would help to know your birth mother's age. If 10/24/1962 is your birth date then you are listed as Baby Girl Soderberg in the California Birth Index.

You can write to the court in San Francisco county and request your non identifying information. Without that, this will be a very difficult search. It is not likely that someone who knows your birth mother will see a message online.

We have tried finding information a while ago, but were informed that the building that was housing the "non-identifying information" was burned down by an arsonist. I was adopted in 1961 in Buffalo, New York. The name of my birth mother on the papers is Barbara Huff. The only thing that I really know, is that she was 23 at the time, my birthdate is on or about 2-11-1961, I was born at Millard Fillmore hospital and the adoption was a private one.

I started a family tree about two years ago with my oldest living Aunt. She has Alzheimer’s now and that got me back to work on the tree. One problem I have is with unorthodox births. Where there may be birth and adoptive parents. Or children that are half related. My Father’s father was his birth father. His father’s wife was his adopted mother. But he also knew his birth mother. I have not been able to list the birth and adopted mothers in a single line for him. Also his brother shared the same mother but a different father. How do I attach them both to the same mother but different fathers? Family Tree Maker seems designed for the “traditional” family tree. But throughout history there have been many variations and complications to the norm.

Thank you for contacting me. Catie (Peggy's birth daughter) was put in contact with her maternal grandmother. She was asked to send a letter with photos and told she would get back in touch with her. Catie sent her a letter with photos but never heard anything back, so has given up :(. She married my son this past September and is an amazing young woman. I love her to pieces and am so lucky to have her in my family!!!!!

Thank you sdeef as the Washington State Archive link verified that yes...this is my birth mother who is currently living in Edmonds, Washington & is 71 years old. I knew that she remarried, but the name on the marriage certificate states Sockman, not Sackman which I was using all along. I'm surprised my searches didn't bring her up earlier.

I again, just wanted to thank you for helping me out on this as it's been a long search which is finally over.
