Exactly! Those were in there too. There were so many of them in my family its hard to recall them all and different family members had different superstitions that I didn't hear as often, so I'm sure I've forgotten a few.
My family I am quite certain came from Scottish roots orig. and then to Northern Ireland and then to Maine, USA in the 1700's.
They sure do have Many of the characteristics and traditions from those two cultures. Even though I can't find my missing family links, my "gut instincts" tell me this is where our roots are.
