I just returned from Peru where I visited the national archives. They apparently did not keep lists of passengers. They did have immigration papers for people who settled in Lima. I don't know about Costa Rica, although I was surprised to find my grandfather on the Hamburg shipping lists on Ancestry.com for a trip to the West Indies in 1911 from Europe. Do you know what year your ancestor left Cornwall
