I have someone that died at sea on board the California in 1887. In the cause of death column it reads - two numbers
#2 #1. Can anyone tell me where I can find out what these two numbers mean; and if there would be a death certificate issued. It was sailing from Hamburg to New York. Date of arrival is 10-13-1887 and he is the last one on the manifest. Meyer is the name. There are only 7 pages of this manifest. Thanks Jo Ann
