this is a bit of a wild shot because I'm short of data, but let me spin this past you and see what you may think.

I have two Waterloo, Ontario men that I'm researching at this time, b. a bit late for the war of independance, perhaps, but maybe in the war of 1812?

no data, but their names were

John Hause/Haase and his wife Mary
John George Schaeffer/Schaffer and his wife Catherine

I have no access to the church records in Ontario, but I know for certain that John Hause/Hasse was a Lutheran and assume that John George Schaeffer/Schaffer was a Lutheran as well.

John Hause/Hasse's son George was b. abt 1838 in Waterloo. I have some census records for George which says his father was b. in Pennsylvania. I don't know if this is true, but there are tons of Haase's in early PA. it's possible that John or his father were indeed of PA.
John George's daughter, Catherine lists her parents as born in Ontario in her census records.
can anyone tell me anything about these people. I have a fair amount of information on George and his descendants, and his 1871 census data and 1865 marriage data, but nothing prior to 1865.
