Need help tracing my RICHARD LANG, sometimes spelled LONG, during the Revolution.
Richard LANG was b. abt. 1744 the son of Robert and Millicent LANG of Saluda, S. C. He was a Loyalist and served in the "NINETY SIX BRIGADE" with Major Patrick Cunningham's Little River Regiment in 1780. He is listed as private. In 1782 he is in Major William Cunningham's Troop of Mounted Militia along with his son (some say brother) Isaac LANG. Both are listed as privates. He is later listed as a Capt. in William Cunningham's troop of Mounted Militia. There is also a Captain Richard Long, and Isaac LANG listed in Lieut. Colonel William Young's Corps, Little River Militia as one point in 1782. I believe this may be one and the same as my Richard LANG.
I have read where a Capt. Lang of the Dragoons cut off one of Major John "Silverfist" Lindsay's hands during the Battle of Camden. Is there anyway to determine if this Capt. Lang is one an the same as my Richard LANG? Richard LANG later goes to Spanish East Florida and leads a very exciting life during Florida's so called " French Rebellion" in 1793- 1795. He later lives out his life in Camden Co., Georgia.
I would like to know more of Richard LANG during the Rev. but not sure where to go from hers.
Thanks for any help,
Roger
