Hello "The Bay",

My ancestors of Prince Edward County are the Clute family. For sure I know that John Stilwell and Maria Wood Clute are mine. I am now beginning to think that the father of John Stillwell Clute was Richard G. Clute. Is there anyone out there who may be able to verify this?

Children of John and Maria Clute were:
Charles C b. 1828
Frances Eliza 1831 (my great-grandmother)married David Scott
Agnes Marie 1834
John Stilwell Jr 1840
James M 1844

Maria Clute is buried (1881)in Glenwood Cemetery, Picton. Next to her are (1863) John (age 7) and Mary (age 3) Scott, children of Frances Eliza and David Scott. I have verified these burials with the management of Glenwood. John Stilwell Clute is buried in British Columbia.

I have read some sites which mention J. S. and Richard G., but don't tie them directly together.

If anyone could help me bridge the gap between the generations of John Stilwell Clute and his parents I would be very greatful.

I do have more information regarding the more current generations that I will be happy to share.

Regards,
Nancy Scott Thompson
