I am connected to Alexander & Juda (Myers) Montgomery through their daughter Sarah Louise. She married a William Marsh and their d Rebecca Ann Marsh m my grgrgrandfather John James William Boyle of Dawn Mills Kent County ON Canada on the 5th March 1843.
I am researching the Boyle family and trying to discover where John's grandfather William Boyle d 1813 in Chatham and his son James b abt 1779 came from. I have not been able to clarify William's U.E.L.status yet and simply have the following source: from Cathy Knight http://boards.ancestry.com Date: 19 Oct 2006 10:38 AM GMT In Reply to: William Boyle d 23 Feb 1816 in Amherstburg ON Canada from Publication: In The Valley of the Lower Thames
Appendix A. page 338 Howard – Lot 13 – William Boyle. No Improv’t. Lives in second township
Appendix B. page 341 Chatham – Lot 11. William Boyle, 1802, loyalist, came to Detroit in 1785.
Appendix B. page 342 Howard – Lot 13. William Boyle, 1789 (John Julien in 1811), see lot 11,
Chatham Surrogate Court Records - Western District Boyle, William, administration of estate given to eldest son James Boyle: 1816 File # 127
From this information I now know that William died in 1813 in Chatham and his eldest son was my James. I am now trying to find out where Wm Boyle came from. Some records say James was born in 1779 River Raisin Michigan and another suggests County Antrim Ireland but no sources were provided. Did the Marsh and Boyle names appear in any Montgomery research? Looking for leads and will highly appreciate any information.
