Mildred L. Scott, 94, of
Sedalia, MO died Friday, May 26, 2006, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was born April 25, 1912, in
Elk Falls,
Kan., a daughter of Clarence
Atwood and Alta Gail Deweese
Ransom. On Oct. 20, 1958, in
Sedalia,MO she was married to Samuel Conway Scott, who died Sept. 6, 1979.

MemoryMrs. Scott attended school in
Elk Falls through eighth grade. She attended high
school in
Longton,
Winfield and Marion,
Kansas, before graduating from Herrington,
Kansas. She worked in the shoe factory in Sweet
Springs during World War II. Later,
she was the bookkeeper at Bing’s Supermarket. She lived in Hughesville for thirty-eight years, before moving to
Sedalia in 1997.
She was a member of First Christian Church, where she was involved in Women’s Christian Group 7 and the Fun and Fellowship group. She was also a member of Young at Heart in Hughesville. She enjoyed playing cards and reading.
Surviving are a stepson,
Wiley Scott, and his wife, Carolyn, of Mahomet, Ill.; a
brother, Clifford Clarence
Ransom, of Gardnerville, N.Y.; a step daughter-in-law,
Marcia Scott, of Albany; five step grandchildren, Carol Scott, Cheryl
McClannahan,
Cynthia Reynolds, Diana
Frisbie and
Bryant Scott; 11 step great-grandchildren; one
step great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two stepsons, Bruce Scott and Sam Scott; two brothers, Paul
Ransom and Melvin Ransom; and two sisters, Edith Florence
Lindsey and Maxine May
Lovelace.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial
Chapel, with the Rev. Russell
Willoughby officiating.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2006, at Restlawn Memorial
Park Cemetery in Coffeyville,
Kansas.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to First Christian Church.
