John Frank
(June 6, 1921 - December 22, 2006)



John Frank - age 85- of Warsaw, IL, passed away Friday, December 22, 2006 at 4:00 P.M. at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk. He was born on June 6, 1921 in Hamilton, IL a son of Benjamin H. and Ruby Rhodes Frank. She passed away around 1924. Benjamin later married John’s stepmother Edith Diton. John married Vivian Klingel on February 27, 1943 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Warsaw, IL. She survives in Warsaw, IL. John graduated from Warsaw High School class of 1939. John served in the U.S. Army from 1942 - 1946. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a city letter carrier for 32 years. John retired from the Warsaw Fire Department and the Oakland Cemetery Board. He was a member of the American Legion Ralph Parker Post in Warsaw and a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Church in Warsaw, IL. He is survived by his wife of 62 years - Vivian Klingel Frank; 1 daughter - Vickie Bentzinger and her husband Robert of Warsaw, IL; 2 grandsons - Douglas Bentzinger and his wife Jennifer of Canton, IL and Mark Bentzinger and his wife Jaime of Warsaw, IL; 4 great grandchildren: Adrianne, Kelsey and Isabella Bentzinger of Canton, IL and Logan Bentzinger of Warsaw, IL; 1 sister - Virginia Nichols of Hamilton, IL; 1 half sister Betty Thurman and her husband Truman of Joliet, IL and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, step mother, one brother Wendall Frank, two great grandchildren Bryce and Issac Bentzinger. John was a gardener, he grew wonderful flowers and spent time in his yard. He loved his wife Vivian and family dearly. He devoted his life to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday December 28, 2006 at the Methodist Church of Warsaw, IL. There will be a full military service following at the graveside by Hamilton V.F.W. and Warsaw American Legion. Friends may call at the Lamporte Funeral Home in Warsaw, IL after 1:00 P.M., December 27, 2006 and meet with the family from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening. Burial in Oakland Cemetery Warsaw, IL. Memorials have been established in his memory.
