My Gt. Grandfather was John Benyon/Bannien/Bennion/Benien (it's different each time I find it!!) On the 1841 & 51 census he's living in Flint and his occupation looks like 'pilot' and on the 1861 census he's the master mariner of the vessel 'John and Jane Preston' at Wild Road Dee River.
Does anyone know whether there are any records I can check to find out what kind of vessel this was and any more information about my ancestor?
