My great grandfather wrote that he "hauled timbers from the Chiricahua Mountains to the Pierce Gold Mines." This would have happened around the year 1900.

Has anyone heard of the Pierce Gold Mines? Is it the same as the Ruth Pierce Gold mines in Mariposa Co., CA?
