Hello~ There are LOTS of vessels with the name "Ruby", but one with similar dates was found on the CD "Ships and Seafarers of Atlantic Canada". That vessel's info. is as follows: "Ruby", registration no. S861086, official no. 042404, constructed in Wallace, Cumberland Co., NS in 1861. It had 1 deck, 2 masts, was a "Brigantine", 97 ft. long, 23 ft. wide, gross & net tonnage of 136, registered in 1861, official closure year 1862 "Lost at Sea". The owner was Abraham BARTLETT, a farmer/planter residing in Brigus, Conception Bay, Newfoundland. The owner was the builder, with all 64 shares.

I found no listing for Charles LAUCKNER. Sorry.

I made the assumption that you had the correct dates. Hope this is beneficial. K.
