Chernoff:William Frederick, December 7, 1929-July 5, 2008.
Bill passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the St. Joseph's Home on Valens Drive, Saskatoon, SK.
Bill leaves to mourn: his wife of 55 years, Pauline; his two sons, Roy (Shannon) Mark, Brett and Kendra, Saskatoon; Greg (Maureen), Emily, Indianapolis; also his brothers and sister, George (Kay) Donna and Randy, Regina; Fred (Heather) Sherise and Kyle, Swan River, MB; and sister Lenore Chernoff, Allison, Winnipeg, MB. Bill was predeceased by his father and mother, Fred and Laura, Kamsack, and his younger brother Leonard, Seattle, Washington.
Born and raised in Kamsack, he helped his dad run Chernoff Electric before moving to Saskatoon where he was employed as a salesperson with Ashdowns, Acklands, and Western Automotive Rebuilders. His love of people and product enabled him to be a successful salesperson. He was extremely proud of his children, both medical doctors, and his four grandchildren; he shared their accomplishments with all who would listen.
There will be no formal memorial service as Bill will be cremated and his ashes buried at a private family service. A "come and go memorial tea" was held at the Parktown Hotel on Saturday, July 12, 2008 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. In appreciation of the care given by St. Joseph's staff, anyone wishing to do so couod make a memorial donation in Bill's name to St. Joseph's home (33 Valens Drive, Saskatoon, SK. S7L 3S2). Arrangements in charge of Saskatoon Funeral Home.
