SKRAPEK: Funeral services for Mary (nee Hleboff) Skrapek, 78 of Kamsack, who passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2008 in the Kamsack Nursing Home, was held July 22, 2008 in St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church at Kamsack with Rev. Dr. Vitalis Azike officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery.
Mary was born December 29, 1929 at Blahadarovka Village in the Veregin District. She was educated at Spring Valley School and graduated from KCI in 1950. She worked for Saskatchewan Government Telephones from 1950-1953 as a switch board operator.
Mary married Leo Skrapek in June of 1953 at St. Stephen's R.C. Church in Kamsack. The couple farmed southwest of Kamsack. Mary was a member of the Catholic Women's League, a member of the Horticultural Society and a parent volunteer at Assiniboine Elementary School.
She is predeceased by her parents, Louis and Nora (nee Kazakoff) Hleboff; husband, Leo Skrapek; sister, Dora Hleboff. Mary is survived by her daughters, Deborah Skrapek of Saskatoon, Joy Skrapek of Ottawa, ON.; son, Lyle Skrapek of Ottawa, ON.; sister, Anne Monilaws of Calgary, AB.; brother Harold Hleboff of Kamsack.
