OBITUARY
George Bogdanoff
Funeral services for George Bogdanoff, 56, athletic director of the Riverdale High School, will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Riverdale.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday in the Russian Sectarian Cemetery in Colma, San Mateo County.
Bogdanoff, a San Joaquin Valley sports figure more than two decades, died Monday night in a Fresno hospital.
He had coached all sports in Riverdale High from 1940 until he became the athletic director three years ago. He had numerous champions in football and baseball. A heart attack in the mid 1950s forced him to limit his activities.
A native of Russia, Bogdanoff was reared and educated in the bay area. He was a graduate of the San Francisco State college and held a master's degree from the University of Southern CA.
His survivors are his widow, Elaine; a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Hollis of Kingsburg, and a son George, Jr., a Fresno State College student.
The family requests that any remembrances be in the form of donations to the memorial fund of the Evangelical United Brethren Church or the Fresno County branch of the American Cancer Society.
The Peoples Funeral Home in Hanford is making the arrangements.
