Here's what I saved:
Listers who believe an ancestor may have sailed across the Atlantic and
got involved in shipping and fishing on the east coast of Canada may be
interested in the Maritime History Archive at Memorial University in
St. John's, Newfoundland:
http://www.mun.ca/mha
The archive contains surnames of crews and data on vessels from 1787 to
1936. Also details on Newfoundland captains 1820-1889 as well as 7300
surnames of people involved in settlement from earliest times to 1830.
And much more. Not all is yet on-line but they have issued a first CD
on seafarers. Many of the records are of people who sailed out of
England's west country, especially Devon.
